It’s finally November! The leaves are changing color and collect under the trees that dot the farm. Today, you were let out of your cage along with the other turkeys and you find yourself in a large pen. It feels good to stretch your legs as you take in the brisk autumn air, and the other turkeys gossip among themselves, some spreading a nasty rumor that you are all about to be “harvested,” whatever that means.
The farmer who has fed you, watered you, and let you out for play time pulls up in a large truck that you’ve never seen before. This truck has a giant cage in the back. This has never happened before. What’s he doing?
The farmer gets out, opens the cage, and then heads over to unlock the pen. What do you do?
